New Bird Bike e-bike reduces reliance on gas-powered vehicles
Bird, a leader in environmentally friendly electric transportation, has joined the electric bike retail market providing alternative methods of transportation with the new Bird Bike.
“With our new e-bike, we are creating increased opportunities for people to embrace micro electric vehicles,” said Travis VanderZanden, Bird’s founder and CEO. “Our e-bike is safe, durable and provides a stylish aesthetic and advanced technology that delivers a fun alternative to congestion inducing, gas-powered cars.”
Though a limited quantity of Bird Bikes are currently available, they will be broadly available from leading U.S. retailers this fall.
The new bike was designed to meet increased demand for retail e-bikes globally, a market projected to reach $23 billion by 2023 and that grew 157 percent year over year in sales in the U.S. in 2020, according to QYResearch.
The Bird Bike provides consumers with a new environmentally friendly and technologically advanced electric vehicle to reduce reliance on gas-powered vehicles.
“The future of transportation is all-electric,” VanderZanden said. “By expanding Bird’s consumer and shared products to include e-bikes as well as e-scooters, we are uniquely positioned to lead the revolution to eco-friendly transportation for the billions of annual trips that are five miles or less.”
Bird is an electric vehicle company dedicated to bringing affordable, environmentally friendly transportation solutions such as e-scooters and e-bikes to communities across the world.
Founded in 2017 by VanderZanden, Bird now provides fleets of shared micro electric vehicles to riders in more than 300 cities globally and makes its products available for purchase at www.bird.co and via leading retailers and distribution partners.
